Jacqueline Smith, Attorney at Law

Jacqueline S. “Jackie” Smith was born in North Carolina, but moved to South Carolina shortly after birth.  She attended Valdosta State University and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2003.  She attained her Juris Doctor degree from the Florida Coastal School of Law in 2008.   Jackie was licensed to practice law in the State of South Carolina in November 2008.

Jackie was a Certified Legal Intern in law school representing clients in a clinic under her professor’s supervision in 2007.  She completed her remaining law school credits during an externship at the Solicitor’s Office in Horry County in 2008.  After completing her studies, Jackie was hired as a law clerk at the Solicitor’s Office.  Jackie passed the bar exam in 2008 and was offered an Assistant Solicitor position at the Solicitor’s Office in Georgetown County where she remained until 2021.  She handled various cases during her time at the Solicitor’s Office in Magistrate Court, Family Court, Common Pleas Court, Drug Court and General Sessions Court.  In 2021, Jackie began working for Horry County Human Resources as a Senior HR Generalist handling various employment matters.  Jackie began working with the Parham Law Firm, LLC in 2023 as an Associate Attorney handling personal injury, forfeitures, medical malpractice, workers’ compensation and some criminal hearings.  In 2024, Jackie joined the Law Office of Deirdre W. Edmonds.
